Modifying AUTO Firing Schedules

How to toggle "Modify Glass Fire" to adjust process times and temperatures in AUTO mode.

One of the finest features of the HotStart kiln is AUTO mode. Pre-programmed heating, annealing and cooling cycles are very convenient. In AUTO mode, you can also easily adjust your desired process temperatures and times (how hot you wish to go, for how long) but, the HotStart ships with this ability turned OFF.

Here's how to turn it ON:

HotStart PRO:

While the controller is in IDLE mode, depress the UP arrow until you hear a beep (3-4 seconds). Now you can use the UP or DOWN arrows to move through all Menus: PRO, AUTO, LOAD, OPT (for "options").

Select OPT by pressing the ENTER button.

If necessary, use the arrows to scroll to MGF (Modify Glass Fire).

Select MGF by pressing the ENTER button.

Use the arrows to toggle between OFF and ON.

Press the ENTER button to select ON and return to IDLE mode.

You will now be given the opportunity to adjust process times and temperatures in every AUTO program.

Original HotStart (not PRO):

While the controller is in IDLE mode, depress the UP arrow until you hear a beep (3-4 seconds). The menu will display MGF, then OFF.

Use the arrows to toggle between OFF and ON.

Press the ENTER button to select ON and return to IDLE mode.
